Appointments
We will do our best to see you at your appointed time and to minimize any waiting. If, for some reason, you cannot keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please call as soon as possible. Charges may be incurred for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
Most clinical procedures are scheduled for the morning hours. Afternoons are generally reserved for exams, consultations, follow-up visits and post treatment care. For our patients that require afternoon clinical appointments, we will make exceptions. Emergencies have priority and we will always see existing patients with dental crises the same day.
Payment Options
We ask that you come prepared to pay for your initial exam and any diagnostic x-rays at your first visit. Our business administrator can estimate this amount for you. For any subsequent treatment that may be needed, extended payment arrangements will be offered.Payment for professional services can be handled in a variety of ways. In addition to cash and personal checks, we accept all major credit cards for those patients wishing to defer payment or make extended monthly payments. For services of $400 or more, you may wish to take advantage of our 10% discount for payment at the time of service with cash or check, or our 5% discount for credit card purchases. Many charges can be divided into three equal payments without interest to help minimize out-of-pocket costs. If you wish to extend payments even further but would prefer not to use four credit card, our office will be happy to help qualified individuals arrange for interest-free financing through CareCredit or Capital One.
With a variety of different financing options available, periodontal therapy can be arranged to fit most budgets. You will have ample time to discuss your financial needs with our staff once a treatment plan is established and fees are determined. Before any treatment is scheduled, you will be provided with a written payment arrangement form. This sheet will outline your preferred choice of payment options, your financial commitment, as well as when payments are due.
Dental Insurance
Please bring your insurance information with you to your initial exam. This will enable us to assist you in receiving the maximum benefits allowed under your policy.
So we can focus our entire effort on you, the patient, we have chosen not to become involved in accepting assignment of benefits or payments from insurance companies. This will not affect the insurance benefits that are due you in any way. As with any healthcare service, your responsibility is to the provider of care and your insurance company's responsibility is to you. Any benefits payable will be sent directly to you instead of being assigned to our office.
As a courtesy, we will electronically file an insurance claim on your behalf as services are rendered. Third party carriers are obligated by law in Kansas to pay insurance claims within 30 days of their receipt. As the provider of care only, we have no leverage in obtaining payment from your carrier. Our office will help you understand your rights in this regard and advise you of the appropriate follow-up measures available to you.
Some insurance companies cover periodontal procedures under their medical or healthcare plans. If this is applicable, our staff is also well-trained in handling medical claims and will assist you in filing for benefits.
Our office has chosen not to participate in any reduced-fee or discounted dental plans or managed care programs. This is because our practice is built on the philosophy of delivering optimal, high quality, individualized care. Restrictions imposed by these plans do not allow patients to receive the level and type of care we believe is appropriate.
